WASHINGTON — Can youcopyright a face? A new federal law aimed at curbing the spread of malicious deepfakes makes it a felony to generate a synthetic likeness of a person without their explicit consent. However, digital artists and satire groups are challenging the law, arguing it violates the First Amendment.
