HOUSTON — The multi-trilliondollar space race has officially begun. Astra-Core, a Texas-based startup, has been granted international approval to commence robotic mining operations on asteroid 16-Psyche. The asteroid is believed to contain massive deposits of rare-earth metals essential for battery production. The company plans to launch its first autonomous 'Extractor' drones next year. If successful, this could collapse the global market price for metals like cobalt and platinum, radically changing the economics of the green energy transition.
